Borders Discount [Jun. 24th, 2005|03:01 pm]

Hi everyone-

I talked to some people at Borders yesterday and they do a 20% discount for book club members. We would need to tell them our book, they order them in (takes less than a week), and each of us would pick them up from the front register (tell them you are in KS Booknerds book group) and you will get a 20% discount. The catch? We would need to regularly order 8-10 copies of the book. So if only say three of us wanted to do this, it wouldn't work out. Let me know what you think of the idea, if you're up for it, and if you want to order a book at a discount through Borders.

Happy reading!

P.S. I've made a flyer and will put some up around town. Any suggestions for where to put them? I'm thinking the library, maybe KU's library, and I'm a volunteer with Audio Reader, so I'll put on there. If you want to post them somewhere, let me know, and I'll email it to you as an attachment.

I think that's a cool idea, but since I am actually the sort to *use* Audio-Reader's services, it wouldn't help me much. Heh, that was one of the things I'd been going to mention in person... that future books should probably be ones I could get access to in some form, be it Braille or taped or something.

I know that Wicked is in audio book form; it's pricer than the paperback, though.

It's also available from the Library of Congress, which is also free to me. I don't suppose it'd count if I bought the cast recording, though, would it? Just, y'know, for the ambiance?
